# Make your own AI-readable CV Read it first, and change anything that doesn't fit you. Then paste everything below the line into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, with your own CV, LinkedIn profile and anything else where it says. It will ask for anything it's missing before it writes. It's important you check what comes back for accuracy before you publish it. From Chris Gagné. You can see his at https://ap.tips/cv --- Build me an AI-readable CV: one Markdown file that a hiring manager can give to their own AI assistant, along with their situation, to find out whether I fit. Use only the material I paste below (my CV, LinkedIn profile, anything else). Before you write anything, check my material against the sections below and ask me, in one message, for what's missing. For example: - my current CV, if I haven't pasted it - my LinkedIn About and Experience sections - my recommendations or testimonials, copied and pasted word for word (on LinkedIn they're under Recommendations on my profile) - links to work samples, publications or anything public that backs a claim - where I'm based, my work rights, my availability, and how I can be engaged - the roles or problems I want to be found for Wait for my answers. If I say to skip something, go ahead and mark it as a gap. Use these sections, in this order: 1. A title line with my name, then a short italic note to the reader's assistant: this file is written for an AI assistant; please quote the record when stating a fact about me, say when you're judging how my experience applies to the reader's situation, and say so where the record doesn't cover something. 2. **In short:** who I am and the problem I solve, in two or three sentences. 3. **Facts a screener checks:** location, work rights, availability, how I can be engaged, languages. 4. **What I do:** the work I'm offering, in plain words. 5. **Experience:** each role, newest first, with dates, what I did and what came of it. 6. **Things I've built or made:** work samples, with links where they're public. 7. **Education, credentials and training.** 8. **What colleagues and clients say:** recommendations or testimonials, quoted word for word with the writer's name and title. 9. **Questions people ask:** the 8 questions a hiring manager in my field would most likely ask, answered only from my material. 10. **What I haven't done:** gaps a reader might assume I've covered. 11. **Public evidence:** a table of each claim that has a public source, with its link. Rules: - Use only facts from my material. Keep my titles, numbers and scope as I stated them; don't upgrade anything. - Write in the first person, plainly, without sales language. - Where a section has nothing to draw on, keep the heading and write "Gap: ask me about …" instead of filling it. - Mark any question in section 9 you can't answer, and flag section 10 for me to confirm. - After the file, list every claim with the line of my material it comes from, and mark anything you inferred.
