Chris Gagné is a 27-year-old resident of Los Angeles, CA. He lives with his girlfriend and two rambunctious cats. Chris maintains an aquarium of rather carnivorous saltwater fish, including a marine eel aptly named Unagi.
Chris has a diverse set of hobbies and interests. He particularly enjoys backpacking,photography, and coaxing old computer hardware into doing cool stuff. On any given evening, Chris can be found listening to binaural classical music, browsing the Something Awful forums, toying with high-powered Class IIIB lasers, or designing 3D cameras.
Vocational
Chris a COO for Student of Fortune, Inc. and NOLS Corporation. Previously, he was a Product Manager at Oversee.net and Director of Client Services at Leads360. He also founded Cerbumi.org, an open-source network-based approach to real-world problem solving. Chris is an active participant of Rotaract, a division of Rotary International. During college, he volunteered for the USDA Forest Service as a wilderness patrol person and docent of a remote historical cabin. Before attending college, Chris was a project manager and user interface designer at Frontera Corporation, a former Idealab application service provider.
Educational
Chris graduated from Occidental College in May 2003, where he majored in Economics for Business and Management. During his senior year, Chris was an active participant in Mortar Board, a senior honor society devoted to serving the community. He graduated with several honors, including magna cum laude, membership in Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Epsilon, and departmental honors for his thesis titled “What effects will increased globalization have on America’s knowledge workers?” He took the GMAT shortly after graduating and scored in the 98th percentile.
